About

A photographer who started writing

Black and white portrait of Al Vega holding a camera

I'm Al Vega. For years I ran an architectural-photography studio — shooting interiors, facades, and the kind of spaces that look effortless precisely because someone sweated every detail.

Somewhere along the way the work shifted. I found myself writing as much as shooting — about craft, about the code I build in the quiet hours, and about the patience that good work of any kind seems to demand. This site is where those notes live now.

I still keep a small, curated set of photographs here — the frames I'm proud of rather than everything I've ever delivered. Everything else is words.

If something here resonates, or you just want to talk shop about light, lenses, or the long game, say hello.
